OK so I started playing Tecmo Bowl about a week before Christmas. I feel I’ve gotten fairly good at it but I can’t help but think my time would be better spent with Tecmo Super Bowl so I decided to start a TSB tournament at my office. I got 5 other guys to join in and I’m taking my Super Nintendo to work tomorrow so people can start practicing. Why the SNES version? Well it’s really because I had an extra SNES sitting around and a cheap copy of Tecmo Super Bowl. I just ordered TSB for NES for $20 and since it’s $20+ right now I decided to keep the NES version for my at home play and take the SNES to the office. The only problem I see is that the SNES version uses 3 buttons and this may get confusing when I play the NES version at home.
I just started playing TSB tonight and it’s definitely a big change up from Tecmo Bowl. Those extra two plays really make the game feel much more intimidating. I had a very solid grip on playing defense in Tecmo Bowl but in Super Tecmo Bowl I feel I have a lot more to learn. I’m hoping the good people at the TecmoBowl.org forms will be able to help me along.
Thanks to http://www.sportplanet.com/tsb/ to getting my started with understanding Tecmo Super Bowl from a strategic point of view but I feel I have a lot more to learn.
Wish me luck!
