Hello I’m Chris and I’ve been collecting retro games, mostly 8 and 16 bit, for the past few years. Some of my favorite games include 1942, Smash TV, the Castlevania series, Bomberman, Super Dodge Ball, NBA Jam, Metriod and many more. I find the simple yet complex nature of retro games a nice break from the large high budget games of today.
During my Christmas break of 2012 I had some friends over and we decided to play a few games of Tecmo Super Bowl. This rekindled my love for the game. I spent the next few days researching the current state of this game and found that there are still a lot of people playing it. From the Tecmo Madison players, featured on NFL Films, who played Tecmo Super Bowl offline tournaments to the players on TecmoBowl.org who play in online leagues that use a modified version of Tecmo Super Bowl.
I decided I was going to start with Tecmo Bowl for NES then once I mastered that game I’d have my sights on Tecmo Super Bowl. I started researching tips and strategies for Tecmo Bowl. Though I found some good information I thought there could be a better online resource for this so I started this site, Tecmo Pro. Tecmo Pro is going to serve as a place to document my journey of learning as much about these games as I can and share the information I gather with other people who want to improve their skills at these games. During this expedition I aim to work with other skilled players to provide the ultimate source of Tecmo Bowl and Super Bowl strategies.
